Cheap Mini Hot Dogs and Free Ice Cream

A perfect storm of free/ish regional food is happening on Tues. April 8, with Gus' Hot Dogs in Watervliet offering 10-cent dogs and Ben & Jerry's doing their annual free cone day.
Gus' Hot Dogs, located on 25th Street in Watervliet, is a local eatery known for its mini hot dogs and sauce. It's similar to Famous Lunch in Troy but different. Some days I think Gus' is better, other days I think Famous Lunch is better. I think it all depends on my mood.

On Tuesday, you'll get a chance to decide for yourself - though there will also likely be a long wait.
Gus' is celebrating 60 years in business and, to celebrate, they're offering up to six mini hot dogs for 10-cents each. So, in other words, you get the equivalent of three regular-size dogs for about 60-cents (the mini hot dogs are usually about 65-cents each). Along with this, the owner said they'll have cake and baklava.
Eat the hot dogs, bring the cake with you, and eat it while waiting in line for Tuesday's other food deal - Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day.

Local locations include Lark Street, downtown Saratoga Springs, and RPI's Union in Troy.
Again, expect a long wait for that cone or dish but it's a fun way to spend a lunch hour.
Gus' is open from 10:30am to 10pm.
The Free Cone Day is available from Noon to 8pm.

Now we're just waiting to find out when Free Burrito Day at Bomber's will be since Easter Sunday falls on 4/20 this year.
